The Merino sheep of Erbenhof Schafzucht Thüringen live in small herds of max. 30 animals. They enjoy the generous free range. The diet is very varied on the pastures of the sheep farm in Thuringia. The stalks and herbs make the animals hardy and they do not need harmful antibiotics. The lamb from Thuringia is therefore of organic quality.
In addition to the lamb from Thuringia, the wool of the Merino sheep is also very popular. The Merino sheep are shorn once a year and freed from their thick fur. The Merino wool can be used to make warm natural beds and pillows. These beds can currently be purchased exclusively at Bettenhaus PSSST in Weimar.
This makes the Erbenhof project sheep farming in Thuringia a holistic undertaking. Our lamb farming is sustainable and ecological. At the same time, Erbenhof GmbH’s lamb farming guarantees animal welfare and thus offers responsible enjoyment of lamb from Thuringia.
